County-Wide MrSID Image - Metadata E-mail - the GIS Department to place an order for a CD of the County-Wide MrSID file for the 1962 Aerial Photography ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Click here to go to the folder that contains the world files for each of the MrSID images. What is a World File? A world file is the companion file to a map or an image that includes basic plain-text information about location and scale, i.e. geo-referencing. Download the ones you want and be sure to put them in the same folder on your computers hard drive that the associated MrSID files are in. The world files and the .sid files must be in the same folder for them to work correctly together with GIS software. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1962APGrid - click to launch Google Earth and view the 1968 Aerial Photography Grid. To view the 1962 images in MrSID file format, zoom into the area you want to see and click on the middle of the Grid Name
THEN click on the blue text and the image will open up in another Internet Explorer window..... ......IF you have installed the MrSID viewer Plug-In for Internet Explorer, which can be found HERE. SAMPLE IMAGE: 1968 Sample Image in MrSID Format... Same Area as in the MrSID image to the left but in Google Earth...
