Answers:

001    -    How can I search by an address?

First, click the Address Search button in the upper right of your screen.

Then, be sure and fill in the blank (blanks) with as much information as you can; enter at least a street name.

    See Figure 2.

002    -    How come I can't find my property on the map?

It may very well be that the map hasn't "caught up" with the rest of the Auditors Office web page. The web pages are updated at least once a month, and your property may be caught between updates.  If the property in question hasn't had any changes for several months, you can call the tax map office at 937-382-4335 or the Auditors Office at 937-382-2250. Be sure and have the parcel number in question at hand, and someone will help.

003    -     Can I generate a mailing list of properties a certain distance from a selected property?

Yes, this is a tool that I believe is underutilized from this web page, which is a shame because it is very easy to use! First, click this link to see a screenshot of the Auditors Web Page. Of course you first have to find the property you want to create a buffer around.

Look at the bottom of the screenshot; you will see the buffer control. Click the tool "on", and use the slider tool to set the appropriate buffer distance. When the distance has been set, click on the property you want to create a buffer for. The tool then selects each property that falls within that distance. You can click on the magnifying glass to zoom to the selected parcels. NOW if you want to create a mailing list (for example) click on the "Generate Downloadable Report" text, which you can find at the bottom left of the screenshot.  A web page will popup that says the following...

Your file has been created and can be downloaded by right-clicking on the download data link below. A menu will pop-up. Select 'Save Target As...' from the menu and save the file to a location on your hard drive.

DOWNLOAD DATA

The file is plain text. The first row contains the field names. Field name are delimited by a semi-colon (;).

You can then open up that file using Microsoft Excel, or any other program you might use to generate a mailing list.
