Data Downloads

            IMPORTANT !

Note on Updating Data:

When updating data by downloading datasets from Data Downloads (the button above), please be sure and DELETE the data you may already have on your hard drive. For example: You want to download the latest parcel dataset. Go to the location on your hard-drive that the data is currently stored in (ArcReader folder, if your using ArcReader) and delete ALL the files that start with cntyparcels.

There should be several files, including but not limited to:

cntyparcels.dbf

cntyparcels.shp

cntyparcels.shx

Be sure and DELETE all of these; anything that starts with "cntyparcels".  THEN go to the DATA DOWNLOADS section of this web page (button above), download the zipped file for property lines (cntyparcels.zip), and unzip (decompress) it to the folder where you want to store it; in the case of using ArcReader, the ArcReader folder.

This procedure will ensure that you get a fresh, new dataset that uses the new indexes to display your data correctly.

Getting Set Up...
For those of you that are familiar with downloading and installing applications and data, feel free to skip ahead and explore. For those of you that are new to this sort of thing PLEASE READ EVERYTHING CAREFULLY.
One of the first things you will need is a means to "extract" the datasets into there original file types.  All of the data found on this website has been "zipped" up (compressed) , to make the file sizes small enough to download quickly and easily. There are many programs available, but we suggest using Winzip. You can go to the companies web page or you can install it on your computer from this web page. It is a free program to use.
Go to the WinZip Web Page ...OR... Install WinZip from here.

Another very important utility to have is the Adobe Acrobat Reader. It's best that you install this from their web page at www.adobe.com. It's become very popular, and you may already have it installed on your computer system; however, upgrades are created frequently so you should check back with them often. It's best to uninstall older versions before installing newer versions.

Now, you need to install a program that allows you to view the GIS data; unless, of course, you already have one. On the Applications section of this web site, you can download a number of free GIS Data Viewers. As you install these programs its very important that you read and understand the "help" files so that you can use each application to its fullest extent. For use with ArcReader, you can download essentially all of our GIS Data to your computer.

Click on ArcReader Data for more information.

We have almost all of our property surveys available on this website. You can find them by clicking on surveys  above.
